Synopsis

Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.

I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my life so completely.

Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who is as ruthless as he is beautiful – a man whose touch makes me burn. A man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.

My captor is an enigma. I don’t know who he is or why he took me. There is a darkness inside him – a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.

My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.

WARNING: This is NOT a traditional romance. It contains disturbing subject matter, including themes of questionable consent and Stockholm Syndrome, as well as graphic sexual content. This is a work of fiction intended for a mature, 18+ audience only. The author neither endorses nor condones this type of behavior.

This is an AMAZING book. So I think I'm just twisted (pun intended) at heart because I love dark romance just a little too much... and I may have read this book like 3 times... within a span of a week. It's. Just. That. Good.

We meet normal Nora Leston just a few weeks before she is set to graduate from high school and turn 18. I say normal because she leads a pretty mundane life. Just about to graduate, she'll move on to college probably marry in her twenties and do the 2.5 kids thing. But all that is about to change. She's out at a bar (obviously fake IDs) with her best friend one night when she sets eyes on a hunky stranger. From first glance Nora knows he's got some danger to him, so she steers clear. But what she doesn't know is come her graduation and ascent into adulthood, she's about to be taken by none other than the dangerous bar hunk Julian and tossed on an island with him, his house keeper, and the blue waters stopping her from finding her way back home

This is a CLASSIC fall-in-love-with-your-captor novel... and it's dang good! This book takes us along the journey of Nora and Julian's love for each other, and how they grow as people and together as a whole. I love reads that show the lightness inside dark characters. And I really like Julian. He's a character a lot of readers will want as their book boyfriends. So just go out an read this thing!

Overall, I'm giving this book 5 STARS out of 5 STARS for not holding back. If you go dark, you better be the darkest you can be. Nora and Julian are characters who will stay with you for as long as you let them. I cannot wait for the next book. Bravo Anna Zaires! An amazing read!
